Community Safety & Trust Policy

Last updated: January 2025

Welcome to Foundly.

Foundly is a community driven Lost & Found platform built to help people across the UAE reconnect with lost belongings through trust, honesty, responsibility, and community support.

This Community Safety & Trust Policy explains how we work to maintain a safe, respectful, and trustworthy environment for everyone using the platform.

By using Foundly, you agree to follow these guidelines and help protect the community.

1. Our Community Mission

Foundly was created with a simple belief:

Small acts of honesty and kindness can make a meaningful difference in someone's life.

Every day, valuable belongings, important documents, sentimental items, and personal essentials are lost. At the same time, many honest people genuinely want to help return them.

Our goal is to provide a safer and more organized platform that connects those people responsibly.

2. Account Verification

To help maintain trust and reduce misuse, users may be asked to provide:

  • full name
  • email address
  • optional phone number

This information helps us:

  • verify accounts
  • reduce scams and spam
  • improve moderation quality
  • maintain community safety

3. Post Review & Approval

Every lost or found item submitted to Foundly may be reviewed by our admin and moderation team before becoming public.

Posts may be approved if they:

  • appear genuine
  • contain clear and useful information
  • follow community rules
  • support the purpose of the platform

Posts may be rejected if they:

  • appear fake or suspicious
  • contain incomplete information
  • violate platform policies
  • include unsafe or inappropriate content
  • are incomplete or duplicated

We reserve the right to reject posts, remove posts, edit formatting or categorization, and suspend accounts when necessary.

4. Human Moderation Disclaimer

While our moderation team carefully reviews submissions, moderation decisions are handled by humans and occasional errors may occur.

If fake, suspicious, scam related, harmful, or inappropriate content is mistakenly approved, users are encouraged to report it immediately using the platform reporting tools.

Community reports help us maintain platform safety and improve moderation quality.

5. Reporting System

Foundly includes reporting features that allow users to report:

  • fake posts
  • scams or fraud
  • suspicious ownership claims
  • harassment or abuse
  • unsafe behavior
  • inappropriate content
  • misuse of the platform

All reports are reviewed seriously by our moderation and management team.

We may investigate reported activity and take appropriate action when necessary.

6. Safe Communication

Foundly provides an in platform inbox chat system to encourage safer communication between users.

We strongly encourage users to keep conversations within the platform whenever possible instead of moving to third party messaging applications.

Using Foundly chat helps:

  • improve safety
  • reduce scam risks
  • support moderation investigations if issues are reported
  • maintain a safer communication environment

Users should avoid sharing unnecessary personal information.

7. Sensitive Items Protection

Foundly provides optional privacy protection for sensitive item posts.

When enabled:

  • item images may remain hidden publicly
  • certain sensitive details may be protected
  • only limited information may be visible publicly

This is recommended for:

  • personal documents
  • wallets
  • passports
  • Emirates IDs
  • bank cards
  • sensitive belongings

Users should never publicly post confidential personal information.

8. Safe Meetups

For everyone's safety:

  • avoid isolated or private locations
  • verify ownership carefully before returning items
  • remain cautious during exchanges
  • involve authorities when necessary for highly valuable or sensitive items

Recommended meetup locations include:

  • malls
  • cafes
  • metro stations
  • police stations
  • public community areas

Users are responsible for their own interactions and decisions.

9. Rewards & Payments

Users may voluntarily offer rewards for lost items.

Foundly does not:

  • manage reward payments
  • hold funds
  • guarantee payments
  • act as a financial intermediary

Users should never send advance payments to unknown individuals.

If someone requests money before returning an item, report the user immediately.

10. Respect The Community

Foundly is built on trust and mutual respect.

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

Users are expected to behave respectfully toward all members of the community.

11. Account Suspension & Blocking

To protect the community, Foundly reserves the right to:

  • remove posts
  • restrict platform access
  • suspend accounts
  • permanently block users

This may occur in cases involving:

  • scams or fraud
  • repeated violations
  • harassment
  • fake claims
  • harmful behavior
  • platform misuse

We may cooperate with UAE authorities if legally required.

12. Platform Responsibility

Foundly acts only as a community platform connecting users.

While we work hard to maintain a safe and trusted environment, we cannot guarantee:

  • successful item recovery
  • ownership verification
  • user honesty
  • meetup outcomes
  • reward fulfillment

Users remain responsible for their own actions, interactions, and decisions.

13. Community Commitment

Foundly is more than just a website.

It is a growing community built on honesty, responsibility, kindness, and the belief that doing the right thing still matters.

Every returned item represents trust between people and strengthens the spirit of community.

Together, we can build a safer and more trusted environment for everyone.

🇦🇪 Proudly serving the UAE community with trust, humanity, and respect.
